About game
Backgammon, also known as Tavla, is one of the most ancient board games. Its roots go back nearly 5,000 years and can be traced through archeological finds in Mesopotamia. It's a game for two players where each player gets fifteen pieces (checkers or men) that move around the board based on the roll of two dice. The aim of the game is to be the first to move all fifteen checkers off the board.
How to play
At the beginning of the game, each participant gets to roll one die. The one who gets the highest number starts the game with two dice. If you roll a pair of identical numbers, you can make a double move, e.g., move two checkers two spaces if you roll double two.
Each checker moves individually. You can move them to any spot not blocked by your opponent. A point is considered blocked if two or more of your opponent's checkers occupy it. However, a point is available if:
* It is unoccupied;
* One of your opponent’s checker is placed on it;
* Your checker occupies the spot.
If you move your checker to a space occupied by your rival's piece, that piece is sent to the center bar and must be returned before any further moves.
