About game
In Balda 5x5, two participants alternate their moves. The game begins with a 5×5 grid and a central starting word composed of five letters covering five cells.
During their move, a player must:
- Add a single letter to an adjacent empty cell.
- Create a word from the letters already on the board.
- Submit the word for verification.
Points are awarded based on the length of the accepted word.
Each move is timed between 45 and 120 seconds. Failing to complete a move within this timeframe results in a skipped turn. The game concludes when a player has three skips or the grid is fully occupied.
The participant with the highest score wins and receives a +1 rating boost.
How to play
1. Select a game mode: online or versus a bot.
2. Set the time per turn from 45 to 120 seconds.
3. The game begins with a 5x5 board and a central starting word of 5 letters.
4. During your turn:
- Add one letter to an adjacent empty cell;
- Create a new word using the letters on the board (tap the letters);
- Verify the word.
5. Score points: each letter is worth 1 point (the word length equals your score).
6. Avoid skips: if time expires without a word, it counts as a skip. Three skips end the game. The game also ends when the board is full.
7. The player with the highest score wins. Winning grants +1 rating and the chance to climb the leaderboard.
