About game
Classic chess is a two-player game that is played on a board with 64 squares arranged in an 8x8 grid. Each player has 16 pieces, including a king, a queen, two knights, two rooks, two bishops and eight pawns. The objective of the game is to put the opponent's king in a position where he cannot escape capture, known as checkmate.
You can play the game against the computer, against a friend on the same device, or against someone online in multiplayer mode. In addition to playing a game, you can also challenge yourself by solving chess puzzles.
How to play
Classic chess comprises sixteen pieces, which can be categorized into six different types. 1. The king moves from its square to an adjacent empty square that is not under attack from the opponent's pieces. 2. The queen can move in a straight line to any number of empty squares in any direction, combining the moves of the rook and bishop. 3. The rook moves any number of squares horizontally or vertically as long as there are no pieces in its path. 4. The bishop moves any number of diagonally placed squares as long as the way is clear. 5. The knight makes a unique 'L'-shaped move: two squares vertically and then one square horizontally, or two squares horizontally and one square vertically. 6. Pawns move only one space forward, except for capturing another piece. The primary goal of each player is to checkmate the king by putting it in an unavoidable capture situation.Game info
