About game
The game "Folk nine" includes several rounds and uses a deck of 36 cards. Each participant receives 12 cards, and the objective is to discard all your cards before anyone else.
THE GAME OFFERS TWO MODES:
1. COIN MODE:
At the beginning of each round, every player puts 20 coins into the pot. If a player misses their turn, they must add 10 coins to the pot. The winner of the round takes all the coins. The game concludes if a player's coin balance reaches zero or less after a round. The ultimate winner is the one with the most coins, with ties broken by whoever won the last round.
2. POINT MODE:
Points are awarded to the round winner based on the number of cards left in their opponents' hands. The first player to reach 50 or more points wins the game.
How to play
The game of Folk nine starts with the player holding the 9 of diamonds.
Cards are laid out on the table in rows grouped by suit.
Each row begins with a nine as its foundation.
Rows can be built in both ascending and descending order by rank.
Players take turns in a clockwise direction.
ON THEIR TURN, A PLAYER MAY:
1. Start a new row by playing a nine of a different suit.
2. Continue an existing row by adding a card of the same suit that is adjacent in rank to the cards already played (e.g., an 8 or 10 following a nine).
If a player doesn't have a suitable card, they must skip their turn.
